OPening Night: Queer/Bar
Queer/Bar opened to the public in the Fall of 2017, in Capitol Hill - Seattle’s historically LGBTQ+ neighborhood, with a mission of creating a more inclusive and exciting space for the queer community in Seattle. For over a year now we have been following this mission by highlighting local queer performers in shows and competitions as well as collaborating with queer producers and allies to create exciting events that unite and enhance our local queer community.
Nights One and Two: Columbia City Theater
The Columbia City Theater was built in 1917 and is the oldest vaudeville theater in the state of Washington. The theater reopened on June 25th, 2010 to rave reviews and was featured in Seattle Weekly’s “Best of Seattle” list after being open for less than two months. This theater is in the heart of a historically African American neighborhood.
